Dinner with Mom and Dad

On Saturday night we had my parents over to the new apartment for dinner.  I had planned a very ambitious menu using several fresh ingredients from the the farmers market and local vendors. It was a full day of prepping and cooking but, it came out splendidly.

Our Menu

Appetizer:  Corn Cakes with Lemon Chive Creme Fraiche

Salad:  Mix of Arugula and Pea Shoots with Cherry Tomatoes and Roasted Garlic Honey Vinaigrette

Entree:  Broiled Flank Steak with Sauteed Wild Mushrooms and Chive-Parsley Butter

Bread:  Garlic Cheese Bread and Country White

Side Dishes:  Asparagus with Tarragon Vinaigrette, Balsamic Roasted Cipollini Onions, New Potatoes with Butter and Chives

Dessert:  Strawberry Shortcake with Whipped Cream
